Imran Khan declared fit, sister Uzma Khan present during medical examination
Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar has said former prime minister Imran Khan was declared medically fit after a detailed medical examination at a hospital.
In a statement on X, Tarar said a team of qualified doctors, including specialists in cardiology, ophthalmology and general medicine, examined Khan and completed the required medical assessments.
Uzma Khan remains present
According to Atta Tarar, Imran Khan’s sister Uzma Khan remained present throughout the medical examination and treatment process.
The minister said the examination was conducted after Khan was taken to the hospital under security arrangements following directions from the Supreme Court.
Khan shifted back to Adiala Jail
After the medical examination was completed, Khan was transferred back to Adiala Jail at around 5am on Friday.
Tarar said the transfer was carried out after doctors declared Khan medically fit and the required medical process had been completed.
Tight security during hospital visit
Khan was earlier taken from Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital under heavy security. A large police contingent was deployed around the hospital during his stay.
The hospital had made arrangements for his medical examination and treatment.
The Supreme Court had ordered Khan’s transfer from jail to hospital for medical treatment. The development had drawn significant attention amid continuing political tensions surrounding the former prime minister.
