The fake notification claims that Pakistan has introduced a four-day workweek. It says Monday to Thursday would be working days, while Friday to Sunday would be holidays.
Document falsely linked to Cabinet Division
The fabricated document is dated September 16, 2026. It was falsely attributed to the Cabinet Division and also referred to another alleged notification.
The circulation of the document created confusion about whether the government had changed its official working schedule. However, the MOIB said there was no such genuine notification behind the claim.
MOIB issues warning to citizens
The MOIB Fact Checker urged citizens not to believe or share the misleading content. It advised people to check such announcements through official government channels before sharing them online.
The warning comes as government-related information can spread quickly on social media. Citizens are therefore being encouraged to verify official-looking documents before treating them as genuine.
