The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) took action against lawmakers from the National Assembly, Senate, and all four provincial assemblies for not submitting their financial details on time.
According to the ECP notification, the suspended members include 32 members of the National Assembly, 50 Punjab Assembly members, 33 Sindh Assembly lawmakers, 28 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly members, 7 Balochistan Assembly members, and 9 senators.

Several high-profile figures are among those suspended. These include Sindh Assembly Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah, Federal Education Minister and MQM-P Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, PPP leaders Syed Ali Musa Gilani and Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani, and PML-N MNA Saira Tarar.
The ECP also suspended nine senators, including Federal Minister for Climate Change Dr Musadik Malik, PML-N leader Abid Sher Ali, and PTI’s Murad Saeed.
In Punjab, 50 MPAs were suspended, including Rana Sikandar Hayat, Adnan Dogar, and Aamir Hayat Hiraj. In Sindh, 33 lawmakers lost their membership, among them former chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and provincial minister Saeed Ghani.
Lawmakers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan were also affected, with 28 KP Assembly members and seven Balochistan Assembly members facing suspension.
The action came a day after the ECP warned lawmakers to submit their financial statements by January 15 or face suspension.

Under election laws, all lawmakers must submit details of their assets and liabilities by December 31 every year. They are also required to file financial statements of their spouse and dependent children on Form-B by June 30.
The ECP said suspended members cannot attend assembly sessions or take part in legislative business, including voting, until they submit the required statements.
