(Web Desk): The Election Commission of Pakistan has set February 15, 2026, as polling day for Islamabad’s Local Government Election.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially announced the schedule for the Islamabad Local Government Election 2026. According to the notification issued on December 9, 2025, polling day will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

Nomination and Scrutiny Process

The process will begin with public notices inviting nomination papers on December 19, 2025. Candidates can submit their papers from December 22 to December 27, excluding Quaid-e-Azam Day. The names of nominated candidates will be published on December 29.

Scrutiny of nominations is scheduled from December 30, 2025, to January 3, 2026, followed by the filing and deciding of appeals in early January. The final list of candidates, along with election symbol allotment, will be published between January 14 and January 16, 2026.

Polling and Results

Voters across Islamabad Capital Territory will elect representatives to the General Seats of Union Councils. Results are expected to be consolidated between February 16 and February 19, 2026. Authorities urged voters to stay informed about candidates and polling arrangements.
