The Punjab government has announced that electric bus service will begin in Attock, with initial routes and operations already finalized.
According to Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan, the service will start with 15 eco-friendly buses. These buses will run on key routes connecting Attock with Hazro, Attock Khurd, Haji Shah, and Fateh Jang.

Officials said more routes will be added in later phases to improve connectivity and provide better travel options for people in the region.
The buses will operate on a hybrid system and are expected to travel around 300 kilometres daily. Charging will be supported through both electricity and solar power, making the system more efficient and environment-friendly.
The minister added that more buses will be provided to Attock in the next phase, and the service will gradually expand to other tehsils, including less developed areas.
He said the project is part of the government’s wider plan to offer modern, affordable, and clean transport facilities to the public.

This project can improve travel in small cities. People may get better transport options. It will also reduce pollution. Expansion to remote areas is important.
