Punjab Minister for Transport and Mass Transit, Bilal Akbar Khan, announced that an electric bus service will begin in Attock from April 2026, marking a major step toward sustainable and modern public transportation in the region.
The service will initially deploy 15 green buses covering key routes linking Attock city with Hazro, Attock Khurd, Haji Shah, and Fateh Jang. Officials confirmed that additional routes will be introduced in later phases to expand connectivity across the district.
Hybrid and Sustainable Technology
Each bus will operate on a hybrid system, capable of covering approximately 300 kilometres daily. Charging will be supported through a combination of electricity and solar power, reducing environmental impact while ensuring continuous operations. The initiative reflects the provincial government’s commitment to eco-friendly public transport.
Future Expansion Plans
Minister Bilal Akbar Khan stated that Attock will receive more buses in the next phase. The service is planned to gradually extend to other tehsils, including underdeveloped areas, improving mobility for citizens and supporting economic activity.
