The government has played a significant role in stabilizing the economy over the past few months, resulting in the avoidance of a default risk. However, on the other hand, the green passport has still ranked among the lowest countries in the list of the most powerful passports at the start of 2025.
According to the ranking issued by Henley & Partners, Singapore holds the world’s most powerful passport, with its citizens having visa-free access to 195 countries.
Japan ranks second, followed by Finland, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, and Spain. Luxembourg, Netherlands, Austria, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden occupy the fourth position.
Additionally, Belgium, New Zealand, Portugal, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom are in the fifth position, while Australia and Greece are sixth. Canada, Malta, and Poland rank seventh, the Czech Republic and Hungary are in eighth, and Estonia and the United States are in ninth.
Moreover, the United Arab Emirates holds the tenth position for the most powerful passport in the world.
According to the ranking, Russia and Turkey rank 46th, South Africa 48th, Kuwait 50th, Saudi Arabia 58th, China 60th, India 85th, Bangladesh and Palestine 100th.
Pakistan ranks 103rd alongside Yemen. Pakistani passport holders have access to only 33 countries without a visa. At the very bottom, Afghanistan holds the 106th position.
In 2024, the green passport was ranked the fourth worst in the world by Henley Passport Index.
