National Cyber Crime Authority (NCCA) Islamabad has decided to initiate an inquiry against Shandana Gulzar over sharing PM Shehbaz image alongside Netanyahu to spread misinformation.
According to official sources, Shandana Gulzar will soon be issued a formal notice to explain her position.
The inquiry stems from a viral post she made on social media in which Shandana shared a fake photo claiming that the Prime Minister of Pakistan had shaken hands with the Israeli Prime Minister during the recent peace summit in Egypt.
Later investigations revealed that the misleading version of the image was AI-generated, with Netanyahu’s face digitally placed over that of the Armenian leader. The edited picture was shared widely, stirring an online debate over the matter.
However, Shandana later removed the post from her social media account. The NCCA has since initiated an inquiry into the matter and registered a case against her.

The NCCA’s decision to formally investigate indicates that authorities are treating the matter seriously, viewing it as a case of potential misinformation and digital defamation. Once she receives the notice, Shandana Gulzar will be required to submit her clarification and supporting evidence in response to the allegations.
Shandana Gulzar, a prominent member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former Member of the National Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has previously faced controversy for making provocative political statements.
