PPP leader and ex-AJK law minister Azhar Hussain Gillani passes away after long illness

RAWALPINDI (Web Desk): Former Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) law minister Syed Azhar Hussain Gillani Advocate has passed away after a prolonged illness.

Azhar Hussain Gillani had been suffering from a liver-related disease for an extended period. He had a distinguished career in law and politics. He began his legal journey with the Rawalpindi Bar Association and later practiced at the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Gillani also served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from constituency Valley-4 on a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) ticket. During his tenure, he held the portfolio of Law Minister in the AJK government and earned respect for his commitment to justice and democratic values.

His funeral prayer will be offered tonight at 10:30 p.m. at Gurez graveyard, where family members, colleagues, and political leaders are expected to attend to pay their final respects.
