ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) In compliance with the Supreme Court judgement in the reserved seats case, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday notified 93 returned MPAs in three provinces as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentarians.

In the landmark verdict, the apex court on July 12 declared that the former prime minister Imran Khan’s party is eligible to receive reserved seats for women and minorities in the national and provincial assemblies. The verdict also declared it to be a parliamentary party.

Obeying the order, the electoral watchdog then decided to return 39 seats in the National Assembly to PTI. It said that the rest of the 41 seats had not declared prior to the elections that they belonged to any party and were to be regarded as independent candidates.
