Last Monday, the former prime minister reportedly confessed to giving a call for a protest outside the army headquarters on May 9. However, the PTI leaders categorically declined the statement attributed to their incarcerated leader.
Talking to journalists during a hearing of a case inside Adiala Jail, the former prime minister said, “I had given a call for holding a peaceful protest outside the GHQ before my arrest.” He added that police and Rangers attacked his house in Zaman Park area of Lahore on March 14.

Later on March 18, he added, the law enforcers again forcibly barged into his house. The same day, he maintained, the Judicial Complex witnessed shelling inside and outside its compound.
During a press conference in Lahore, Marriyum, who is also Punjab‘s senior minister, said that the matter was not a political one rather it was a crime against the state therefore should not be ignored.
Without naming Imran Khan, Marriyum said that since 2014, a person attacked the country, dirty clothes were washed outside the Supreme Court building, threated to carry out arson and vandalism across the country.

She said that PTI activists have been intentionally attacking the state institutions since 2014 and now is the time to punish them. These activities started in 2014 and paralyzed the country’s development in 2022, she said.
She demanded strict action against the PTI founder and supremo. Her demand came on Imran Khan s reported statement in which he allegedly claimed that his party’s intentions were to hold peaceful protests outside military installations. She said that it was akin to a confessional statement.
Using the mentioned statement as evidence, she said the "culprit" of the May 9 mayhem confessed to planning and masterminding the riots.
