JI Chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stated during a press conference in Lahore that the party would resume its protest movement for a reduction in electricity prices. “On January 17, we will protest across the country for lower electricity rates. When Jamaat-e-Islami starts a movement, it never backs down.” He said.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said the situation in Palestine is very precarious, with over 47,000 people martyred, and daily bombings are happening in camps. He added that the United States is fully backing Israel, despite being responsible for maintaining peace, it is instead supporting terrorism.
The JI chief further stated that the US fights its proxy wars around the world, causing bloodshed and creating monopolies by spilling the blood of humanity. He urged the Pakistani government to play its role, as the strength of the US and Israel comes from the silence of Muslim rulers.
He mentioned that the weakness of the ruling class strengthens terrorist states, and it is the duty of the entire Muslim ummah to raise their voice on the issue of Palestine. He also pointed out that the country’s economic conditions are deteriorating, with the government praising the improvement of indices, but failing to explain why things are not becoming cheaper.
The JI chief further remarked that while big claims are made, no action has been taken to provide relief to the people, and the ruling class is not ready to sacrifice their luxuries.
