PIA Deputy Station Manager Iqbal Javed Bajwa
KARACHI: (Suno News) Iqbal Javed Bajwa, Deputy Station Manager of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in Birmingham, has reportedly stepped down after his Intermediate certificate was found fake.

Iqbal Javed Bajwa is reportedly a brother of former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa.

A PIA spokesperson said that Iqbal Javed had been asked to step down for submitting fake educational certificates, adding that he had been served a show cause notice on July 13, 2024, through the PIA’s finance manager in Birmingham on the allegations of possessing a fake degree.

The spokesperson said that Iqbal Javed had been asked to prove the authenticity of his Intermediate degree within seven days or face termination, for breaching relevant clauses of PIA’s Employees Disciplinary Policy 2019.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) also did not verify his roll number 25703 and confirmed to the PIA management via a letter that he had not passed the Intermediate examination under the said roll number or name.

The development came after all the PIA employees were asked to submit their educational certificates and documents last month.

It is to be noted here that Iqbal Javed Bajwa was recruited to the PIA’s Rawalpindi office in 1977, and he later acquired local regular employee status after relocating to the United Kingdom in the late 1980s.
