Earlier, India decided not to send its cricket team to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025, which is scheduled to be held in coming February.
Speaking to journalists in London, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif emphasized the need to foster good ties with India, saying that cricket can improve the relations between the two neighbours.
“If relations are strained, they need to be mended,” he said.
Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan and the USA should have cordial relations, highlighting that past has witnessed the good relations between Pakistan and US. “There is need to further improve the relations between the two countries,” he added.
While condemning the recent incident encountered by former Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa in London, he slammed PTI and blamed the party for introducing the culture of incivility.
He also berated the PTI-led government for not launching any development project in its tenure, adding that PTI has not fulfilled its promises of providing jobs to youth.
