Former Punjab CM Pervez Elahi issued arrest warrant

LAHORE (Web Desk): The Special Central Court Lahore has issued an arrest warrant for former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for failing to appear in a money laundering case.

During the hearing, the court also rejected a one-day exemption request filed by Pervaiz Elahi.

Judge Arif Khan Niazi of the Special Central Court, Lahore, heard the case. During the hearing, Pervez Elahi s lawyer filed a petition for forgiveness for his client s one-day absence. However, the court expressed its anger by rejecting this petition and ordering the issuance of an arrest warrant for him.

According to the report, the FIA Lahore has already submitted a supplementary challan against Pervez Elahi in the money laundering case. The court clarified that the accused s repeated absence is hindering the proceedings and the law is equal for all.

It should be noted that various cases are pending against former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, including allegations of corruption and money laundering.

According to legal experts, more legal problems may arise for Pervaiz Elahi after the court issued an arrest warrant.
