According to railway officials, the accident occurred when the arms of passengers who had reached out of the train windows collided with the signal pole ladder.

According to details, passengers of Awami Express Up, Awami Express Down and Musa Pak Express were involved in the accident. The injured include women, elderly people and youth, who were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where their treatment is ongoing. The condition of several injured is said to be critical.

Railway officials said that initial investigations revealed that unknown persons had pushed the signal pole ladder onto the railway track. Due to which the hands of the passengers of the moving train hit it and they were injured. Railway staff and rescue teams reached the spot immediately after the accident and the injured were taken to the hospital.

According to railway sources, a full investigation into the incident has been launched and the police and railway security forces are conducting joint operations to find those involved. The authorities have appealed to the public to refrain from irresponsible actions at such sensitive locations so that precious lives can be saved.

The railway administration has assured that those responsible for negligence will be brought to justice.
