Lahore (Web Desk): The federal government's recommendation for US President Donald Trump's nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize hasn’t gone well as it has to face public backlash due to continuous US involvement in Iran-Israel conflict along with its recent attack on Iran.

The Government of Pakistan formally decided to recommend the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize to US President Donald J. Trump in recognition of his diplomatic intervention and effective leadership in the recent Pakistan-India tensions.

A statement issued by the federal government said that during the recent tensions between Pakistan and India, President Trump demonstrated commendable strategic foresight and brought the deteriorating situation under control, making a ceasefire possible.

The government further stated that President Trump s leadership in the 2025 India-Pakistan crisis is a clear manifestation of his continued tradition of pragmatic diplomacy and effective peace building. It is hoped that these efforts of President Trump will be a means of bringing peace and stability to the region and the world.

However, now US President Donald Trump has taken the most dramatic step by involving the United States in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel.

The government is facing severe public criticism for this move by the US President and Pakistan s recommendation to nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Users on the social networking website X (formerly Twitter) harshly criticized the government in response to a government tweet.

One user wrote, "Why should Trump receive the Peace Prize? For what?? For killing million of Palestinians in Gaza?? For supporting his mission of Greater Israel ?? For supporting his Anti Muslim/Islam ideology?? what a Shame!!”

Another user on X criticized the government, saying that it is not even ashamed. Another user said, "We are sitting with America and standing with Iran, technology."

Another user sarcastically said, " And you claim to stand with Iran”
