(Web Desk): Authorities have sealed Swat madrassa after 14 year old student tortured to death by teachers.

In a tragic accident in Khwazakhela tehsil of Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 14-year-old student Farhan died allegedly due to serious physical torture by teachers of a madrassa. Reacting to the incident, the madrassa has been sealed off, and nearly 300 enrolled students were released to their parents on Wednesday.

District Police Officer (DPO) Swat, Muhammad Umar, affirmed that the death of the teenager was due to torture by the madrassa teachers. Referring to the incident as sorrowful, he added that police responded immediately on receiving the report.

An FIR has been filed in the name of four people on behalf of the police. Two of the suspects have already been arrested, while nine more have also been apprehended. The madrassa, which was said to be running without the proper permit, has also been officially closed down.

The DPO vouched for the transparency of the case and the absence of political influence. The investigation, he further stated, will strictly adhere to law.

The case has elicited widespread outrage among the locals. Locals organized a protest rally against madrassa officials, calling for justice. Assistant Commissioner Khwazakhela led the sealing of the madrassa compound, while the key accused, Muhammad Umar, is still on the run. Protesters shut down the Kalam-Matta road, calling for the arrest of all those named in the FIR.
