
The Finance Department sanctioned the funds, releasing Rs 1 billion each for every zone for the purpose of upgrading different areas of Lahore.
The finance will be employed in major infrastructure development, such as the installation of new water storage tanks and the acquisition of cutting-edge machinery for water and sanitation activities. The development seeks to improve water supply, drainage, and sanitation networks in Lahore.

After releasing funds, the Finance Department formally directed the Accountant General s Office to initiate the transfer of the allocated sum. This action allows WASA to go ahead with equipment procurement and pending construction work.
Previously, WASA had urged the provincial government to release the funds urgently to avoid disruptions in its ongoing projects. The timely disbursement will now allow the agency to continue critical development work without interruption.
