LAHORE: (Web Desk) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed the authorities concerned to ensure the enforcement of minimum wage law across the province.

While chairing a meeting regarding welfare of the workers, she instructed the amendments to labour laws to improve welfare of the workers. Provincial Minister for Labour Faisal Ayub Khokhar and others also attended the meeting.

CM Maryam Nawaz set Rs37,000 as minimum monthly wage for workers across Punjab.

Moreover, Chief Minister of the Punjab sought a plan to build labour colonies across the province. She also instructed the revamping of social security hospitals in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz decided to construct a 200-bed Rehmatul Alamin Cardiology Center on Lahore Defense Road and approved a 50-bed Social Security Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that the workers are the friends of Allah. The government is determined to make Punjab an exemplary province with regard to the welfare of labourers, she added.
