(Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the formation of a new Army Rocket Force Command to greatly bolster Pakistan's defense capabilities.

Addressing a befitting ceremony at Jinnah Sports Stadium on Pakistan s 78th Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq, PM announced to establish Army Rocket Force Command that would be equipped with the latest technology to strengthen Pakistan s conventional warfare prowess.

Premier also remembered the recent India-Pakistan military confrontation, saying that Pakistan had achieved a resounding victory in a matter of three or four days. He praised Field Marshal and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad, and the Air Chief for their timely, well-coordinated response to Indian aggression.

"India forgot that the wars are not won with weapons but through the will and determination of the nation," he said, observing that the defeat had imparted to India a permanent lesson.

PM Shehbaz termed the post-war era as the dawn of a "new Pakistan," giving credit to Field Marshal Asim Munir s plan for the victorious result. He called for all political parties and civil society to come onboard the Misaq-e-Istehkam-e-Pakistan (Charter for Stability in Pakistan) for united progress.

President Asif Ali Zardari, key political leaders, ministers, military chiefs, diplomats, and dignitaries attended the ceremony. The premier also thanked friendly countries — China, Turkiye, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, UAE, and Qatar — for their assistance, and thanked U.S. President Donald Trump and his government for playing a facilitation role for the ceasefire.
