Public transport services in Lahore have been fully restored after days of suspension due to security and traffic disruptions across the city. The Orange Line Metro Train resumed operations on Tuesday after remaining non-functional for five consecutive days, while the Metro Bus Service was brought back online following a four-day suspension, according to officials from the Punjab Mass Transit Authority.
The authority confirmed that both services were temporarily halted due to road blockages and public safety concerns amid recent law and order challenges in Lahore.
However according to further traffic update in Lahore areas like Scheme Mor to Samanabad (Both sides), Shimla Pahari and Lahore Press Club will still remain closed as per Safe city traffic alert.
All routes are open to public
All Orange Line train stations and Metro Bus stops across Lahore have now been reopened for commuters. The Orange Line Train has resumed running on its regular schedule, serving all designated stations across its route. Similarly, traffic flow on the Metro Bus corridor has returned to normal, ensuring smooth travel for thousands of daily passengers.
“Operations have resumed after a thorough assessment of security and traffic conditions in the city,” said a spokesperson for the Punjab Mass Transit Authority. “We’re committed to providing safe, reliable, and uninterrupted public transport to the citizens of Lahore.”
Public transport system fully operational again
With the restoration of both key services, Lahore’s mass transit network is once again fully functional. The resumption comes as a major relief for office-goers, students, and daily commuters who rely on these affordable and efficient transit options.
