According to Rescue 1122, five fire tenders were dispatched to the scene to control the blaze. Firefighters are currently engaged in firefighting operations to bring the situation under control.

Rescue officials confirmed that heavy smoke has filled the basement area of the building, making the operation more challenging.

Efforts are ongoing to extinguish the fire and ensure the safety of all occupants and nearby structures.

It is pertinent to note that in 2020 a devastating fire swept through Lahore’s Hafeez Centre reducing over 400 shops, warehouses, and repair outlets to ashes and causing significant financial losses to traders.

The incident marks the fifth major fire reported in Lahore’s Gulberg area.

According to reports the fire engulfed over 400 commercial units — including shops, storage spaces, and offices — during the 11-hour inferno.
