Several key highways and roads in and around Lahore were temporarily shut down on Sunday afternoon due to ongoing protests, causing widespread traffic disruptions across the city.
The Punjab Home Department confirmed that traffic has been halted on major motorways including the Lahore–Islamabad Motorway (M2), Lahore–Abdul Hakeem Motorway (M3), and Lahore–Sialkot Motorway (M11) in both directions. Commuters are being advised to avoid these routes and seek alternative pathways where possible.
Within Lahore city, significant roads have also been blocked. These include Thokar Niaz Baig towards Babu Sabu, Manga Mandi, Aiwan-e-Adal towards PMG, Karol Ghati Ring Road, Chungi Dogech, among other main arteries. The closures have led to congestion and delays for motorists and public transport users alike.
Authorities urge residents to stay informed through official updates and plan their travel accordingly to minimize inconvenience. For real-time traffic updates, commuters can contact the Lahore Traffic Police helpline at 15.
