Light rain has been reported across various parts of Karachi, with meteorologists indicating that more intense showers may follow later in the day if the prevailing weather system shifts westward.
Following Sunday’s significant rainfall—which had authorities monitoring for potential urban flooding—clouds returned over Karachi Monday morning, bringing drizzles to the city once again.
Light showers were observed in areas such as Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Korangi Road, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Burns Road, MA Jinnah Road, Qayyumabad, Mehmoodabad, Manzoor Colony, and Baloch Colony.
Rain was also recorded in University Road, Jamshed Road, Jehangir Road, Yaseenabad, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
According to weather officials, the drizzle is expected to last between half an hour and an hour. They added that if the weather system shifts westward, Karachi could experience heavier rainfall later in the day.

Elsewhere in Sindh, sporadic rain continued in Tharparkar, while Larkana and nearby regions were hit by intense showers.
Heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning also struck Khairpur and surrounding areas. The storm caused flooding in local drains and nullahs around Kot Diji and the Aror hills. Meanwhile, light rainfall in Kashmore brought a cooler atmosphere to the region.
On Sunday, Karachi saw widespread heavy rain, prompting the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) to issue an alert for possible urban flooding in low-lying areas.
