According to CCTV footage the accident happened when the Vigo, driving against traffic, crashed head-on into the motorcycle that was going in the right direction. CCTV footage later showed that the Vigo had made a wrong turn attempt to cut through by driving on the opposite side of the road, causing the accident.

Following the incident Zafar Abbas reported that the motorbike lacked headlights and suddenly cut across the path of the vehicle. But CCTV footage and police investigation rejected this excuse, proving beyond doubt that the motorcyclists were riding their motorbikes in their respective lane and that the fault lay with Vigo for traveling the wrong way.
Zafar Abbas, who reached the site of the crash a few minutes after the accident, said the vehicle had been borrowed by his office attendant to buy ice. "Immediately on learning about it, we got the injured boys shifted to a private hospital. Luckily, they are out of danger now,” he informed the media.
The police officials have confirmed that the driver has been arrested and the Vigo has been seized. The police were able to track the car in a short while, as its license plate had become dislodged as a result of the collision.
The Samanabad Police Station has filed an FIR and taken the initial statement of the driver. "Following eyewitnesses and video footage, we are taking proper legal action," a police official stated.
