(Web Desk): The government has declared two upcoming public holidays one for the Urs of Hazrat Sakhi Sultan and another for Eid Milad-un-Nabi on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal.

The federal government has declared a public holiday on Wednesday, August 28 to observe the Urs of Hazrat Sakhi Sultan. This annual event marks the death anniversary (Urs) of the great Sufi saint Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahoo (RA), a spiritual leader known for spreading the message of love, peace, and devotion to Allah.

The Urs is a time when thousands of devotees from across the country gather at his shrine to pay tribute. The day is filled with Quran recitations, Sufi poetry, naats, prayers, and spiritual gatherings.

People also distribute food and perform charitable acts in memory of the saint’s teachings of generosity and service to humanity.

Just a few days after the Urs, another public holiday will take place on Friday, September 6, for Eid Milad-un-Nabi, which is the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal in the Islamic calendar. This day marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), a time of celebration and reflection for Muslims around the world.
