Following the tremors, people came out of the houses by reciting Kalm-e-Tayyaba.

According to details, shared by National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC), the tremors of earthquake were felt in several parts of Punjab including Jalalpur Bhattian, Jaranwala, Jhelum, Gujrat, Jhang, and adjacent areas.

NSMC confirmed that 5.1 magnitude earthquake hit parts of Punjab. Its epicenter was Kharian with depth of 15 KM.

Earthquake, a natural calamity, often caused huge damage to infrastructure and loss of thousands of precious lives.

According to experts, the Earth s surface is composed of three large plates: the Eurasian, Indian, and Arabian plates. As heat accumulates beneath the surface, these plates move from one place to another, causing the Earth to shake and resulting in an earthquake. The seismic waves of an earthquake spread in all directions, creating fear and panic.
