LAHORE (Web Desk): A senior citizen got frustrated and upset and erupted with abusive language against high-profile figures including Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Punjab Police subsequently arrested the man. They recorded a follow-up video statement in which he expressed remorse for his earlier outburst. He publicly apologized to the government, Punjab’s chief minister, and the Pakistan Armed Forces and finished with a patriotic “Pakistan Zindabad.”

A leader from the Pakistan Muslim League-N also shared his apology video on social media.

After his arrest, he recorded a public apology, saying:

“I am ashamed of my words. I apologize to the government, the CM Punjab, and the Pakistan Army. Pakistan Zindabad.”

It is important to note that the incident happened when the man and his bike got stranded in about two feet of rainwater. In a moment of anger, he confronted a passerby, criticizing the government using harsh language. His angry rant was captured on video and quickly went viral on social media.

The viral video sparked a strong reaction online. Some saw the arrest as a violation of free expression, while others considered it a justified step to maintain respect for institutions.
