
The unsettling incident happened after a bus that was travelling at high speed slipped off the road and fell into a ravine, claiming six lives and injuring 24, according to rescue officials.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene and took the injured to the Trauma Center in Kallar Kahar and the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital. Most of the injured not only bear physical injuries but are also undergoing intense emotional trauma.
A Motorway Police spokesperson verified that the ill-fated bus was on its way from Islamabad to Lahore when the tragedy occurred. Initial investigations indicate that the accident happened because of the negligence of the driver.

The authorities have expressed concern about the increasing incidents of road accidents in Punjab and blamed most of them on reckless driving and continuous traffic law violations.
