ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The Government of Punjab has launched its largest recruitment drive of 2025 through the Urban Sector Planning & Management Services Unit – popularly known as the Urban Unit.

Spanning technical, survey, and field operations roles, the campaign aims to fill more than 1,000 positions across at least a dozen disciplines — from software development and GIS to social mobilization and project engineering.

The drive offers over 1,000 posts, including IT roles (Software Developers, Web and Front-End Developers, GIS Specialists), engineering and coordination positions (Project & Field Managers, Civil Engineers, Coordination Officers), along with mass data and field survey teams.

These openings are part of an expanded rollout of the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER) project, with some vacancies identified as enumerator and data-collection roles (as many as 10,600 in previous rounds).

Many candidates see this as more than a job — it’s an opportunity to plug into Punjab’s next wave of data-driven urban planning. The Urban Unit project is widely viewed as transformative, offering structured work, hands-on experience in city planning, and the chance to contribute to the state’s future in a meaningful way.

First-round tests and interviews are expected to begin in early September, with results published later in the month.

Those not selected this time are encouraged to stay updated via the Urban Unit website and the official Punjab Jobs Portal for future openings.

Short induction training, particularly for work in GIS, field data collection, and stakeholder coordination, will be undergone by candidates.

If public service, tech-enabled urban projects, or data-based policy work are your forte, then this recruitment round is exactly what you are looking for, as it offers a concrete way to make an impact.
