Officials said the attacker targeted security staff deployed at the check post. The powerful blast caused panic in the area and emergency teams rushed to the scene soon after.
Following the attack, authorities imposed a high alert across Bhakkar district. Security has been tightened at all entry and exit points to prevent any further incident.
A high alert was also declared at the District Headquarters DHQ Hospital in Bhakkar city. Hospital officials confirmed that all doctors and medical staff were called in to handle the emergency.

One doctor at DHQ said three injured civilians are under treatment, while one police officer was also wounded in the suicide attack. Medical teams are closely monitoring the injured.

The attack came on the same day when tensions also flared at the Pakistan Afghanistan border in Landi Kotal. According to reports, Afghan Taliban forces opened fire at the Tirah border area.
Pakistan Army responded strongly with artillery, giving what officials described as a befitting reply to the unprovoked firing.

The back to back incidents have raised serious concerns about security, especially in border linked regions.
Authorities are investigating the suicide attack and trying to determine who was behind it.
