Security forces foil kidnapping attempt on DC Tump protection squad
Security forces thwarted an attack targeting the protection squad of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tump in Tump district of Makran Division, according to security sources.
The incident involved an alleged attempt by terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan to target the vehicle carrying personnel assigned to protect the deputy commissioner. The attackers reportedly sought to abduct members of the squad.
According to the sources, security forces responded quickly after the attack began. Their intervention prevented the alleged abduction attempt and helped ensure the safety of the personnel.
Protection squad rescued safely
Security sources said all members of DC Tump’s protection squad were rescued safely and in time. The prompt response prevented the attackers from carrying out their reported plan.
During the incident, the attackers fled the area, leaving behind a vehicle and weapons, the sources said. The abandoned equipment may assist authorities in examining the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The sources also stated that several attackers were injured during the security forces’ response. However, the exact number of injured individuals was not disclosed.
The incident highlights the security challenges faced by government personnel operating in parts of Balochistan. Authorities continue to focus on preventing attacks and protecting officials and other personnel in vulnerable areas.

Earlier operations reported in Balochistan
The reported attack in Tump comes after security forces carried out intelligence-based operations in Kharan and Washuk districts of Balochistan.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said 11 Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed during separate intelligence-based operations. The military’s media wing identified the attackers as members of Fitna al-Hindustan.
According to the statement, the operations were conducted following reports of terrorist activity in the two districts. The military said the actions were aimed at preventing threats and disrupting terrorist operations.
Eight terrorists killed in Kharan operation
The ISPR said that on September 6, 2026, terrorists attempted to establish a roadblock in Kharan. The reported objective was to disrupt local traffic and create difficulties for people travelling through the area.
Security forces responded after detecting the activity and engaged the attackers. According to the military’s statement, eight terrorists were killed during the operation.
The operation was described as part of ongoing efforts to prevent militant groups from disrupting public movement and creating insecurity in the region.

Three killed during Washuk intelligence-based operation
A separate intelligence-based operation took place in Washuk district on September 7, according to the ISPR.
The military said troops conducted the operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists. During the action, security forces targeted a reported terrorist hideout.
An intense exchange of fire followed, resulting in the deaths of three terrorists, the ISPR said. The military did not provide further details about the identities of those killed.
Together, the two operations accounted for 11 reported terrorist deaths, according to the statement. The military said such actions are intended to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent future attacks.
