Pakistan has launched Operation Ghazab Lil Haq in response to alleged unprovoked firing and cross-border attacks, claiming heavy casualties and widespread destruction of militant positions along the Pak-Afghan border.
Security sources said 133 militants were killed and more than 120 injured during retaliatory strikes. Officials claimed 16 posts were destroyed and seven captured, while militants reportedly fled the area.
The Pakistan Air Force conducted airstrikes inside Afghanistan, targeting an ammunition depot in Nangarhar, three battalions, and a Taliban headquarters, according to official statements. Reports also indicated strikes on positions in Kabul and Kandahar, with claims that infrastructure and weapons including tanks, artillery guns, and armored personnel carriers were destroyed.
Authorities said drone and artillery operations targeted militant posts in sectors including Bajaur, Chitral, Khyber, Mohmand, Kurram, and South Waziristan after alleged quadcopter attacks on Pakistani check posts were foiled.
