"Balochistan is Pakistan’s pride," says Field Marshal Munir with a firm anti-terror pledge
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said Pakistan’s armed forces, along with law enforcement agencies and the support of the people, would continue efforts to defeat terrorism in Balochistan. He made these remarks while addressing participants of the 20th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ), according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
He said lasting peace in Balochistan can only be achieved through continued military operations, strong public support and national unity. He added that the network and infrastructure of terrorists trying to harm Pakistan and its people would be completely destroyed.
The field marshal also said Pakistan remains fully committed to eliminating terrorism and those who support militant groups. He stressed that security operations would continue with full determination until the threat is removed.
According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Munir said foreign-backed proxies have repeatedly tried to spread violence, weaken stability and disturb peace in Balochistan. However, he said these attempts would fail because of the firm response of Pakistan’s armed forces and the unity of the nation.
Calling Balochistan the pride of Pakistan, he said the province is rich in natural resources and has brave and patriotic people. He added that the federal and provincial governments are working together on development projects to improve the province’s economy and the lives of its people through an inclusive approach.
Field Marshal Munir also appreciated the role of civil society, educational institutions, the media and young people in strengthening national unity and supporting long-term peace and development in Balochistan.
The session ended with an interactive discussion, where participants renewed their commitment to Pakistan’s stability, progress and sovereignty.
