The security sources said that a large number of hostages, including women and children, who were being used as human shields, have been rescued. Previously, 190 passengers were freed, and 30 terrorists were killed, they added.
The sources maintained that during the clearance operation, great care and skill were used to save innocent lives. However, the exact number of passengers who were martyred by the terrorists’ brutality is still being determined. All the terrorists present at the scene have been killed.
One of the rescued passengers thanked the security forces, saying, "There was firing on the train, and thanks to God, the army and FC personnel showed courage and took us to a safe place. It was their bravery that freed us from the terrorists."
It is important to note that the Jafar Express, traveling from Quetta to Peshawar, was attacked by terrorists yesterday. After firing, the terrorists took the passengers hostage. Security forces immediately launched an operation against the terrorists, but due to difficult terrain and the terrorists using passengers as shields, the operation had to be carried out with caution.
