LAHORE: (Web Desk) In a dramatic development near the sensitive Ferozepur sector, Pakistan Rangers captured an Indian Border Security Force (BSF) soldier who crossed into Pakistani territory — and he was armed.

According to sources, the soldier has been identified as Constable PK Singh of the 182nd battalion of India’s BSF. He reportedly crossed the international border and entered Pakistan with his weapon. Pakistan Rangers swiftly detained him after detecting the breach.

Initial investigation reveals that the incident took place near the highly sensitive Ferozepur sector. Authorities are now trying to determine whether the intrusion was accidental or deliberate.

The detained soldier is currently being questioned, and a full-scale investigation is underway.

Indian media also confirmed the border crossing and acknowledged that the incident occurred near the Ferozepur sector. Communication between both countries  forces has taken place following the event.

Security analysts warn that such incidents can further strain the already fragile ties between India and Pakistan — especially after the recent Pahalgam shooting which led to 26 deaths. In its aftermath:

India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan.

Ordered Pakistani nationals to leave within 48 hours.

Pakistan responded by halting trade and airspace for Indian flights, closing the Wagah border, and expelling Indian diplomatic staff.

Even the historic Tashkent Agreement is being reconsidered by Pakistan.

With both nations on high alert and diplomatic relations souring fast, the region is watching closely. Was this border crossing just a mistake — or something more? Stay tuned as investigations unfold.
