SHANGLA: (Suno News) Six people died and many others sustained injuries after a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden car into a bus carrying workers in Shangla district.

Malakand DIG Muhammad Ali Gandapur confirmed the death of six passengers and said that the incident had taken place when the Kohistan-bound bus carrying the passengers from Islamabad reached Basham.

He said that the bus driver, who was injured in the attack, had been shifted to hospital.

The police sources said that there was a huge explosion as soon as the car, coming from the opposite direction, hit the bus.

“Soon after learning about the incident, the police reached the spot and started relief operations,” the DIG said.

“The injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment,” he added.

Earlier in the day, security forces foiled a terrorist attack on a naval airbase near Turbat Airport in Balochistan and eliminated four terrorists.

The security forces also gunned down four terrorists in Dera Ismail (DI) Khan in an intelligence-based operation (IBO).
