He emphasized that India has a long history of attempting to politically benefit by falsely attributing terrorism to Pakistan.
Speaking with TRT, General Sharif clarified that India has attacked six locations in Pakistan, targeting innocent civilians without provocation. Pakistan firmly rejects these groundless allegations, and has taken a responsible approach in handling the situation. After the attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Pakistan offered to hold an independent and impartial investigation, but India refused to accept the offer.
General Sharif stressed that India’s repeated accusations without evidence should stop immediately. He pointed out that India has a troubling pattern of assigning responsibility for terrorism to Pakistan in order to further its political agenda. In the recent attacks, India targeted mosques, women, and children, with no credible evidence to back their claims. Pakistan has urged India to provide any proof to an impartial international body if they have any.
As tensions continue, General Sharif confirmed that Pakistan is facing ongoing shelling from Indian forces. However, Pakistan has only responded defensively, using small arms to target Indian military posts that have fired into Pakistani territory. He made it clear that Pakistan is not engaging in large-scale strikes or drone attacks as the Indian media has falsely reported. This kind of misinformation campaign by India, claiming that Pakistan launched drone, airstrikes, and large-scale attacks, is a baseless propaganda with no evidence to support it.
Pakistan remains committed to protecting its people, but will only act in self-defense, rejecting any attempt to escalate the situation.
