Osama bin Laden’s close associate held in Gujrat operation

LAHORE: (Report, Mirza Ramzan Baig) Intelligence agencies and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested a key leader of Al-Qaeda and a close associate of Osama bin Laden in a joint operation in Gujrat.
CTD DIG Usman Akram Gondal told the media that the arrested terrorist identified as Dr Aminul Haq Sam Khan was placed on the list of the most wanted persons by international organisations.
He also told the media that the accused played an important role in the reorganisation of Al-Qaeda, adding that Dr Aminul Haq was also Osama bin Laden’s security supervisor.
“His arrest is of utmost importance in the context of the terrorist incidents in Pakistan,” he added.
Gondal further said the arrested terrorist was in Afghanistan in April 2024, adding important revelations are expected in further investigations.
