According to security sources, Afghan Taliban fighters opened fire without any provocation in Kurram. The Pakistan Army immediately retaliated with full force, destroying key Taliban positions.
Reports say that due to the Army’s heavy response, Taliban posts suffered severe damage. Flames engulfed several positions, and one tank post belonging to the Taliban was completely destroyed. Security officials added that after facing major losses, Taliban fighters fled the area, leaving behind multiple dead bodies.
Sources revealed that this was not the first incident. Earlier, during the night between October 11 and 12, Afghan forces carried out unprovoked firing along several border points — including Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral, and Baramcha in Balochistan. The firing, according to intelligence reports, was aimed at helping extremist groups cross into Pakistan.
