(Web Desk): ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said at least 274 Taliban regime personnel and terrorists have been killed in Pakistan’s retaliatory action.

Addressing a press conference, the DG ISPR said that there was no difference between the Afghan Taliban regime and terrorists, terming the former as "master proxy" who is operating and protecting several proxies.

The ISPR chief said that India is involved in every incident of terrorism taking place in Pakistan.

On the directives of the prime minister, Operation Ghazab lil-Haq is underway until its objectives are fully achieved, the military spokesperson said. He added that the Afghan Taliban regime itself had signed the agreement in Doha, under which it had pledged that Afghan soil would not be used for terrorism against any country.

The operation carried out the previous night was undertaken to safeguard Pakistan's sovereign rights and security interests, he clarified.

He maintained there was a unanimous consensus among all political parties that terrorism could not be given any space within Pakistan.

The ISPR chief noted that the National Action Plan (NAP), formulated in 2014, continued to guide the country's counterterrorism strategy and was now being pursued under the broader vision of "Azm-e-Istehkam".

Terrorists and their facilitators were given a befitting response by the security forces, he said, adding that the Pakistani forces hit only military targets in Afghanistan.

He said that drone attacks in Abbottabad and Nowshera were also foiled.

He stated that if any act of terrorism were carried out inside Pakistan, those who executed or facilitated it would find no safe haven anywhere.

The Taliban regime in Afghanistan on Friday said it wanted "dialogue" to resolve its conflict with neighbouring Pakistan following deadly fighting.

"We have repeatedly emphasised a peaceful solution, and still want the problem to be resolved through dialogue," Taliban regime spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said in a news conference.
