181 terrorists killed in 7,745 IBOs during last 70 days: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: (Suno News) The security forces of Pakistan conducted a total of 7,745 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) and killed 181 terrorists in major operations during a period starting from April 1 to June 10, 2024, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a statement, the military’s media affairs wing said that several attempts of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)-linked terrorists to cross the border have also been foiled during the period.

During the 70-day period, 7,745 operations were conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Sindh, the ISPR said. It added a network targeting Chinese citizens was also caught in Syria. Apart from this, it added, the big plan of attacks during the month of Muharram was also foiled.

Pakistan Army conducted 2,701 operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 4,902 operations in Balochistan and 142 operations in Sindh, it detailed.

In these operations, 128 terrorists were killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 51 in Balochistan and 2 in Sindh, the statement said.

During May, 12 terrorists were killed in Balochistan and 42 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while 61 were arrested, it noted. The terrorists were killed while trying to infiltrate across the border into the Pakistani territory, the statement said.

On the other hand, cross-border infiltration attempts were also thwarted in Bajaur, Dir and Chitral, it was stated.

Seven terrorists were killed in Zhob, 12 in Dera Ismael Khan and Tank, 19 in North Waziristan and 11 in Lakki Marwat, it said

The ISPR said that these actions and the determination of the security forces are conclusive evidence that there is no longer any place for the banned TTP or any other terrorist group on Pakistani soil.
