Razia Sultan, daughter of jailed Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, was rushed to hospital after her health suddenly deteriorated. Malik has been imprisoned in India's Tihar Jail since 2019 and has refused to seek justice from Indian courts.

Yasin Malik Refuses to Fight Case Further

The development came a day after Malik submitted a 25-page affidavit before a Srinagar court, announcing he would no longer contest his case. He stated he had no expectations of justice from Indian courts and said he would accept even a death sentence, leaving his fate to God. He alleged that after 36 years, Indian authorities were plotting to hang him in a fabricated case.

Malik Denies Role in 1990 Sarla Bhat Murder Case

Malik firmly denied involvement in the 1990 killing of Sarla Bhat, questioning the credibility of an alleged JKLF note found near her body that later went missing from official records. He argued he was severely injured 11 days before the murder, making it impossible for him to have planned or ordered the killing.

Political Vendetta Claims and Family Separation

Malik alleged Indian agencies encouraged him to improve Pakistan-India ties, only to later use this against him. He said his case was politicized during the 2019 and 2024 elections. In an emotional note, he spoke of years of separation from his mother, wife Mushaal, and daughter, urging Razia to stay connected with her grandmother.
