(Web Desk): Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s interim bail extended in 9 May and other cases until February 17, court orders video link appearance.

The Islamabad District and Sessions Court has extended interim bail for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in multiple cases, including the high-profile 9 May incident.

The hearings were conducted by Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka, who granted the extension of their interim bail until February 17. The court also directed that Imran Khan must appear via video link in the next hearing.

The proceedings saw the presence of lawyers Ansar Kiani and Shamsa Kiani, representing Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. Due to Imran Khan’s absence, arguments on the interim bail requests could not be presented.

During the hearing, the court was informed that several cases are registered against Imran Khan, including the 9 May incident, attempted murder, and alleged submission of fake receipts, among others. Bushra Bibi faces a case related to the submission of allegedly fake receipts.

The court’s decision ensures that both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi remain protected under interim bail while the legal proceedings continue. Legal experts say the extension provides the defendants additional time to prepare their defense in what are considered politically sensitive and high-profile cases.

Authorities have highlighted the importance of court directives, including the requirement for video link appearances, to maintain orderly proceedings and ensure justice is served while the cases are pending.
