Islamabad court extends Bushra Bibi’s bail till May 6 in protest case

ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) The Islamabad District and Sessions Court has extended the interim bail of Bushra Bibi until May 6 in a case related to the November 26 protest.

The court has ordered the investigating officer to include her in the investigation.

The court heard the case registered against Bushra Bibi over the November 26 protest. PTI lawyers submitted a request for exemption from personal appearance on her behalf.

Advocate Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry appeared in court representing Bushra Bibi, while Special Public Prosecutors Barrister Fahad Arsalan Chaudhry, Advocate Muhammad Usman Rana, and Barrister Mansoor Azam were also present.

The court granted an extension of interim bail to Bushra Bibi until May 6.

It is worth mentioning that the case against Bushra Bibi was registered at Ramna Police Station in connection with the November 26 protest.

Meanwhile, Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka presided over the hearing of five bail applications related to fake receipts, protests, and vandalism filed against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. Advocate Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry appeared on their behalf.

During the hearing, the lawyer stated that Imran Khan is expected to be presented in court today, as per the court’s earlier order. Judge Afzal Majoka inquired from the court staff whether any effort had been made to ensure Khan s appearance and if the prison authorities had sent any letter.

The court staff confirmed that a letter had been received. The judge then inquired about the status of the video link setup.

After a brief recess, Adiala Jail authorities informed the court that due to internet issues, Imran Khan could not be presented via video link. The court staff conveyed this response to the judge.
