LAHORE (Web Desk): The Punjab government has launched the Chief Minister Punjab Livestock Card Scheme, offering interest-free livestock loans of up to Rs540,000 through the Punjab livestock loan scheme to support eligible farmers across the province.

Punjab launches Phase III

The Punjab government has officially introduced Phase III of the Chief Minister Punjab Livestock Card Scheme to strengthen the livestock sector and improve dairy and meat production.

Under the Punjab livestock loan scheme, eligible farmers can receive interest-free livestock loans to purchase animal feed, silage, mineral mixtures and other approved livestock nutrition products from registered dealers.

Officials said the programme is designed to reduce financial pressure on livestock owners while improving the health and productivity of their animals.

New feature allows cash withdrawal

A major addition to the latest phase allows successful applicants to withdraw up to 25% of the approved loan amount in cash.

The money can be used for transportation, veterinary care and other livestock-related expenses. The remaining amount must be spent through authorised dealers under the Chief Minister Punjab Livestock Card Scheme.

Who can apply?

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a resident of Punjab.
  • Own at least five and up to 20 eligible calves or buffalo calves.
  • Have a valid CNIC.
  • Possess an active mobile SIM registered in their own name.
  • Ensure all animals are registered and verified with the Livestock and Dairy Development Department.

The Punjab farmers loan programme provides financing of up to Rs27,000 per eligible animal, with a maximum loan limit of Rs540,000 for farmers owning 20 registered animals.
