(Web Desk): Punjab has launched centralized monitoring for housing schemes to improve transparency, stop fraud and make property deals more secure.

The Punjab government has introduced a new digital system to monitor all housing societies across the province. The initiative is aimed at improving oversight, protecting buyers and maintaining accurate land records.

Punjab Housing Minister Bilal Yasin announced the new plan during a high-level meeting. Officials also reviewed proposed laws to tackle illegal construction and unauthorised housing schemes in different areas of the province.

The minister said every housing society will now be monitored through a centralized Housing Society Management System. He said the system will help ensure that all projects follow legal requirements and remain under proper government supervision.

Bilal Yasin said resolving the problems faced by people living in illegal housing societies is one of the government’s main priorities. He warned that strict action will be taken against developers and housing societies that fail to register under the new system.

The Housing Society Management System will also be linked with NADRA’s verification services, digital land maps and e-registration facilities. According to the minister, this integration will help verify ownership records, reduce fraudulent transactions and make property transfers safer.

The Punjab government has also ended the traditional “file system” used for buying and selling plots. The minister said Green Property Certificates will replace this practice to encourage secure and transparent property ownership.

Bilal Yasin advised people to confirm the legal status of any housing society through the Punjab Land Records Authority before purchasing property. He said this step can help buyers avoid illegal projects and financial losses.

The government believes that digitising land and housing records will reduce scams and improve investor confidence. Officials also expect the new reforms to create a more transparent and reliable real estate sector across Punjab.

The latest measures are part of Punjab’s wider plan to modernise land administration and strengthen regulation of private housing developers. The government says these reforms will offer greater protection to homebuyers and improve trust in the property market.

The new digital monitoring system could make property transactions more transparent and reduce fraud. If implemented effectively, it may improve buyer confidence and discourage illegal housing schemes across Punjab.
