Pakistanis in UK offered free legal other services at special camps
The camps will be organised under the Community Outreach Programme by the Pakistan High Commission in London. The initiative aims to provide services closer to Pakistani communities so they do not have to travel to central London.
Consular services available in Slough
Under the programme, a special camp will be set up in Slough to provide several services related to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). These services will include new applications and renewals of the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).
People will also be able to receive assistance with other identity-related matters. Guidance will be available on important documents and related procedures.
Power of attorney and document verification
The camp will also provide services related to power of attorney and document attestation. Assistance will also be offered for matters connected with the Punjab Land Records Authority.
These services are expected to help overseas Pakistanis manage important legal and property-related paperwork without travelling to central London. The initiative is being launched on the instructions of Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr Faisal.
Free legal advice in Woking
Another special camp will be organised in Woking, where visitors will receive consular services along with free legal advice. Legal experts will guide people on family, property and other civil matters.
This service will give members of the Pakistani community an opportunity to discuss legal issues and seek professional guidance. It will also help people understand their options in matters involving family and property disputes.
Special facilities for elderly and disabled people
The Pakistan High Commission has said that elderly citizens and people with disabilities will receive special priority at the camps. The aim is to make sure they can access services without facing unnecessary difficulties.
The High Commission has also clarified that the required consular fees will only be accepted through debit or credit cards. Cash payments will not be accepted at the camps.
The special camps will make it easier for overseas Pakistanis to access important government services. People who live far from central London will be able to save time and travel costs.
Free legal advice in Woking is another useful part of the programme. However, visitors should arrange their required documents and payment cards before attending the camps.
