KP increases allowance for disabled employees and pensions for retirees
Higher allowance for disabled employees
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government Department has approved an increase in the special conveyance allowance for eligible disabled government employees.
The revised allowance will be paid according to the rules and conditions set by the Finance Department.
The decision is expected to provide some additional financial support to employees facing rising daily expenses.
7% pension increase approved
The Local Council Board has also approved a 7% increase in net pensions for its retirees.
The increase will apply to pensioners linked to several local government institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
These include the Local Council Board, Local Governance School, Capital Metropolitan Government Peshawar and tehsil municipal administrations.
The revised pensions are aimed at helping retired employees manage their household expenses during a period of rising living costs.
Financial relief for employees and retirees
Officials said the decisions were taken to provide financial relief to both serving employees and retired staff.
For disabled employees, the higher special conveyance allowance could help cover additional transportation-related expenses.
For pensioners, the 7% increase will provide some extra income each month.
The measures come as many government employees and retirees continue to face pressure from higher prices of essential goods and daily services.
